Sting’s twelfth solo studio album, 57th & 9th, his first rock/pop project in over a decade, was released 11 November on A&M/Interscope Records. The ten-song collection represents a wide range of Sting’s musical and songwriting styles from the raucous, guitar-driven first single, “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You” to the ferocious, Road Warrior-style imagery of “Petrol Head” and the anthemic “50,000.”  The album, produced by Martin Kierszenbaum, was recorded in just a few weeks with Sting’s long-time collaborators Dominic Miller (guitar) and Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), as well as drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n’ Roses), guitarist Lyle Workman and backing vocals by the San Antonio-based Tex-Mex band The Last Bandoleros.

Sting will be performing three shows in Mexico. First on 17 May 2017 at The National Auditorium in Mexico City, then on 20 May at Citibanamex Auditorium in Monterrey, and finally on 21 May at Telemex Auditorium in Guadalajara.  Tickets will be available for members of the Official Sting.com Fan Club on 17 and 18  January. Citibanamex Presale will start on 23 and 24 January and General Sale will start on 25 January 2017 via Ticketmaster on www.ticketmaster.com.mx and by the phone on 53-25-9000 and at the Venue´s Box–Office.

Dark images
Hi Sting - All your recent images seem depressingly dark. I can take a hint - it is a time of extremes and tension, restlessness and more. "Don't need no doctor / don't need no pill" was a concept I myself took at face value for a while recently, but I suspect in my own case resuming li will help! I now send messages with infinite, nervous, and too paranoid care, but also with unwavering respect. And as a great new song of yours reveals, we at times have inward conflicts and in our imaginations can raise frozen fists against implications of real circumstances that can be baffling, unreal, or so different from the expected, that calm patience short-circuits and we just want to say screw it so we can get to sleep and escape the weight of serious mysteries - no matter how magnificent and beautiful and wonderful and blonde the dreams are. Btw can I ever meet you, at 57th and 9th?

The video for “One Fine Day," the new single off Sting’s recently released pop/rock album 57th & 9th, was directed by James Larese. The animated style of this video is a nod to Sting's own iconic "Love Is the Seventh Wave" video from his 1985 album, The Dream of the Blue Turtles.

Sting said, "One Fine Day is my satire about climate skeptics. I sincerely and passionately hope that they are right and that the majority of scientists in the related fields of research are all full of baloney, and for that... perhaps we'll all be grateful... one fine day!"
