Train Tigers Rescue Appeal...

May 10, 2021

The Train Tigers Rescue aims at rescuing four Bengal tigers abandoned 14 years ago by a circus in Argentina. These tigers are locked in unsanitary and extremely small cages of a train, covered with a bedding made from animal carcasses and excrement and where they have developed a stereotypic behaviour (by going in circles compulsively and repetitively). They have been left to their fate in conditions that affect their health and their behaviour.

They are exposed to the wind, the rain and the heat. These four tigers always have been locked up, having known only captivity, very limited space and nothing adapted to their species.

Their only comfort is the visit of a farmer struggling with serious financial issues. That’s why we can’t wait anymore to rescue the tigers.

The Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary has agreed to welcome the tigers, but €100.000 is needed to organize their transfer from Argentina to South Africa, provide them the veterinary care they need and to pay for their reception in Ubuntu. There, they will be protected against poaching or hunting and accompanied in their rehabilitation in semi-freedom.

The Planet Tiger association has created a fundraising page as an appeal for donations in order to make the Train Tigers Rescue happen. Please check it out and consider supporting if you are able.

In the center of these songs is one instrument called “HandPan," a very meditative and soothing instrument.
